Sahrdaya Institute of Management Studies honored Mr. Abhijith C. R., gold medalist at the Berlin Special Olympics 2023, on the occasion of Sports Day. Abhijith won two gold medals for India in roller skating at the Special Olympics. Abhijith, the chief guest of the college's Sports Day, inaugurated the event. Fr. Dr. Jino Johny Malakkaran, executive director of SIMS, presided over the function. Dr. Dhanya Alex, director, spoke to the students about the importance of sports and games. Student representative Antony Joy recited the Sports Day pledge. Sister Sneha, a teacher at Irinjalakuda Prateeksha Bhavan Special School who supported Abhijith's achievement, attended the function. The college hosted various sports events that promoted the mental well-being and healthy sporting competition of the students. Assistant Professor Mr. Noel Wilson and Student Coordinator Mr. Akshay George led the sports events.
